Crocheted Star Pillow

12 Jun
WOW!  June 12 already?!  Almost half way through 2012, and so far so good with me getting one of my original patterns out each month for you. :)  I hope you have been enjoying what I’ve been sharing?

I would really love your feedback on the patterns I’ve been sharing.  What you made, who they were for, if my patterns are easy enough to understand, etc.🙂

This pattern was created for my sweet granddaughter, but I thought it would be a perfect kind of thing to make for either of the 2 American holidays coming up:  Flag Day which is coming up in 2 days, or for the Fourth of July (which will give you a bit more time to work on it).

REP directions for Second Point for Points 3, 4, and 5.

***SPECIAL PATTERN NOTE:  I made a gusset for this pillow, but I think you could just use the 2 stars, if you prefer, to make a pillow that way.  You can SL ST around them, or sew them with a yarn needle.  If you’d like to try the gusset, please keep reading (This is my first try at creating a pillow with a gusset).***

Gusset:
BEG and ROW 1:  CH 11, SC in second CH from hook, 1 SC in each CH across, CH 1, Turn (10 SC).
ROW 2:  SC in each SC across, CH 1, Turn (10 SC).
Rows 3-320:  REP ROW 2, Fastening Off at the end of ROW 320.

Assembly:
SL ST or sew 1 star to the edge of 1 side of the gusset.  Once you’re all the way around SL St or sew up the seem of the top and bottom edge of the gusset.  Then begin to SL ST or sew the other star to the other edge of the Gusset.  Once you’re almost finished, leave a hole for stuffing, then finish closing.  Fasten off.  You’ll want to weave in ends as you go.

As always stay creative, and be blessed!🙂
